Its founder August Horch gave a persona to this brand. Actually they engineered the assembly of an automobile and auto parts for his own company. However, Horch was shown the door out of the project in 1909. But his enthusiasm did not allow him to stop there, within a short period of time he was up and operating again. Due to legal boundations he was forced to change the former brand name "Horch" for his new venture, so he adopted the name "Audi", which is a Latin derivative for the word "hear". It was 1910 when Audi Automobile Works was formally came into being.
